Mark Weyhmeller was unique…. he was one of a kind. Mark was part family man, part tough guy (with a soft interior), part sports enthusiast, patriot…. and part smart-aleck. In all of these qualities, Mark was loved; loved by his family, friends and community.
Mark Weyhmeller, passed away suddenly and peacefully at home, Wednesday, March 6, 2024. He was 58.

The son of Robert “Buck” and Judy (Moran) Weyhmeller, Mark was born June 12, 1965 in Mt. Vernon. In his youth Mark spent most summer days at the Bellville pool or Little Apple Golf Course. In high school Mark was a talented swimmer and strong wrestler. He graduated from Clear Fork High School in 1983.

At 16 years old he first met Stacey Lyon. The two dated off and on for 5 years, and even during Mark’s service in the military. The two were married September 24, 1988 and celebrated 35 years of marriage.

A military veteran, Mark served in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged following 4 years of service.

For 16 years he worked for Mohican Juvenile Correction Center before his retirement.
Mark was dedicated to the Valley, especially Clear Fork sports. He helped coach biddy wrestling and youth baseball. He was a great sports writer and reporter for the Bellville Star focusing on Colt high school sports. He was instrumental in forming the Clear Fork Valley Sports Hall of Fame. He could talk sports with anyone. He was a huge Ohio State Buckeyes fan as well.

Anyone who knew Mark was ready for another of his smart remarks. It was expected and he kept friends and family on their toes. Really he just wanted to make others laugh and feel at ease. He was a family man; a caring husband, father and loving grandpa. He may have had a tough exterior but still had a soft, caring heart.

Mark was a rock & roll enthusiast which matched well with his weight lifting routines.
He enjoyed golfing and played in the Monday night Little Apple League. Even with one leg and one eye, he would still shoot a great score!

Mark was a member of New Life Church of Christ, Bellville Amvets Post #43, Bellville American Legion #535 and Bellville Masonic Lodge #376.

He is survived by his wife Stacey Weyhmeller of Bellville; children Whitney (Chris) Cromer and James (Kaiti) Weyhmeller; grandchildren Tristan, Marlee, Annalee, Elliana, Alayna, and Maverick; sister Jamie (Chris) Bogner; brother-in-law Jim Lyon;numerous nieces and nephews; close friends Adam Irwin, Chris Kindt, Alan Meeks and Scott Norris, as well as a large circle of friends.
