Tina Marie McDonald was a devout woman of unwavering faith who attended Life Tabernacle Church in Willard in her youth. A loving matriarch who cherished her family above all else, Tina passed away at her Shelby, Ohio home on February 25, 2024.

Born Tina Marie Vanderpool in Shelby on July 22, 1959, she was the daughter of Oma (Patrick) Hall, but it was her grandparents, Lela and Joseph Patrick, who nurtured her upbringing with profound love and care. Their guidance instilled in Tina the values of family, faith, and resilience that would define her life’s journey. In her youth, Tina attended Amos Elementary in Detroit, Michigan and Willard City Schools.

Tina’s life was profoundly enriched by her marriage to Dallas McDonald, a union marked by love, loyalty, and shared devotion to their family. Together, they navigated life’s joys and challenges, creating cherished memories that would be treasured for generations to come.

Family was paramount to Tina, and she poured her heart and soul into nurturing her children, Kelly and Christopher, instilling in them the same values of faith she held dear. Her role as “Granny” brought her immeasurable joy, and she delighted in showering her grandchildren, Grace, Emma, and Toby Randall, with love, wisdom, and affection.

Tina’s faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she approached each day with a steadfast commitment to prayer, scripture, and spiritual growth. Tina attended Church in Shelby and her legacy as a “Prayer Warrior” will forever resonate within the hearts of those whose lives she touched. Even as her eyesight failed, Tina’s focus remained on Christ as much of her day was spent listening to KLove, TCT Ministries, and numerous messages encouraging her spirit.

In addition to her devotion to her faith, Tina possessed a sweet tooth and an affinity for life’s simple pleasures. Whether savoring the warmth of her morning coffee adorned with sugared flavored cream or indulging in any sweet treat, she found joy in the little moments that made life truly meaningful.

She is survived by her devoted children, Kelly (Ryan) Randall and Christopher Colyer, both residing in Shelby, and her adored grandchildren, Grace, Emma, and Toby Randall. She is also survived by her mother Oma Hall and sister, Faith Hall “Cricket” (significant other, Glenn Barnett) along with numerous extended family including dear nieces and nephews. Her family would like to express a special thank you to Tina’s cousin Christa “Chrissy” Constance-Warwick, for the extra care given to Tina.

Tina was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Dallas McDonald, and her sister, who was like a daughter to her, Leslia Hall.

Visitation will be held, Tuesday, March 5, 2024 from 10 am – 12 pm in the Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where her funeral will begin at 12 noon. Pastor Timothy Holt will officiate and burial will follow in New Haven Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
