MANSFIELD: Mike Truex was a man filled with love and gratitude. He was an adoring husband, wonderful father and doting Deetz to his grandkids. He began every morning and ended every evening expressing his thanks for how the Lord had blessed him. (Psalm 9:1)

Mike passed into the Lord’s care on Saturday, February 24, 2024, in Celebration, FL. He was 76.

Born Michael Allen Truex on May 7, 1947, in Ashland to parents Milo E. and Margaret L. (Bartley) Truex. He was graduated from Ashland High School in 1965.

A Gunner’s Mate 3rd Class, Mike served with the US Navy in Vietnam. After serving, he earned his diploma from the Ohio State Patrol Academy.

Mike loved serving as a State Trooper for 28½ years where he made many lifelong friends. He also enjoyed buying, selling and detailing vehicles throughout his life. After his retirement from the OSP, he worked with security services at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital and as a bailiff with Mansfield Municipal Court. He also enjoyed traveling extensively. Mike especially enjoyed taking cruises and wintering in Florida.

As an avid golfer, Tuesdays and Thursdays were sacrosanct for his golf game and league.

Mike was a member of Berean Baptist Church, and he lived his Christian faith as an example to everyone. He leaves a legacy of unconditional love, wise advice, and unending kindness.

He is survived by his wife Annie (Murphy McQuate) Truex, whom he married September 18, 2021; a son Mark Truex of Mansfield; daughter Julie Conrad of Ft.
