Marjorie E. Roush, age 88, of Shelby, passed away peacefully at her home Monday morning, February 19, 2024.

In her own words, here is the story of Marge’s life. β€œI was born August 17, 1935 at home in Mansfield, Richland County, Ohio to Adam and Caroline β€œLena” (Zimmerman) Holzworth. I graduate from Union High School in 1953 and worked at AMF in Shelby as a secretary until going into the auction business with my late husband, Sam Roush. We worked 35 years in the business. Sam and I dearly loved the auction business and the wonderful people who came to the auctions. To you all, thank you. We also had Wall Street Storage- a business we too loved for over 50 years.”

β€œI was the first woman to sit on the First National Bank of Shelby Board of Directors. What a wonderful honor. I also continued to sit on the Civista Bank Board of Directors following the merger. Additionally, I was elected to St. Mary School Board. What a great experience and a great school.”

β€œSam and I were married 38 years. We loved to travel. We went to Antarctica and saw the penguins- one wonderful trip. Later I went to the Arctic. It also was a wonderful trip. I really did enjoy traveling. Following Sam’s passing in 1995, I married Bert E. Davis in 2007. We were married for 13 years until his passing in 2020.”

β€œI found a lot of happiness in sewing and embroidery work over the years and I’ve created many projects throughout my life. I have also been a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church.”

β€œSam and I adopted our two children Samuel David and Cynthia Ann.” Marge’s survivors include her children: S.
