FREDERICKTOWN — The Fredericktown FFA students recently competed in a couple of events with strong results.
The Fredericktown FFA chapter sent members to participate in Public Speaking under two different categories. The two categories were Creed and Beginning Prepared.
Austin Frazier took 2nd place in the county with the Beginning Prepared Public Speaking Contest with his speech in regards to the Industrial Solar in Knox County.
Contestants in this contest are to write a five to seven-minute speech that they must memorize and recite for the judges before answering oral questions.
The speech is based on any agricultural topic that the student chooses. He was graded on voice clarity, eye contact, time, and her subject.
In the Creed Speaking Contest, Maddie Bartlett and Lilleigh Scarbury represented our Fredericktown FFA Chapter. Maddie placed 4th overall and Lilleigh placed 5th.
For this contest members are to recite the whole FFA Creed and then answer questions from the judges.
Fredericktown FFA 3rd in Ag Power Diagnostics

Recently, the Fredericktown FFA sent members to the District Agriculture Power Diagnostics contest.
The team took 3rd place at the district competition held at John Deere Training Facility in Plain City.
This competition serves as an authentic assessment that is designed to evaluate students’ knowledge in recognizing and repairing malfunctions in agricultural and/or industrial power equipment.
The skills these student’s employ in this CDE are the same skills required by agricultural and industrial technicians.
The team must take an online general knowledge exam, and work together in five different diagnostic stations during the competition.
Fredericktown FFA Advisor is Debra Burden.
