Marion L. Holland, age 72, of Ontario, passed away Sunday afternoon, February 11, 2024 at Crestline Nursing Center surrounded by loved ones.

Marion was born March 19, 1951 in Northumberland, PA, the daughter of the late Niles and Violet (Groner) Oehrli. She lived with her beloved Mimi until 5th grade when she returned home and graduated from Crestline High School and Pioneer Joint Vocational School in 1969. Throughout her life, Marion worked in various positions and careers but ultimately found her passion in nursing. She also loved her career in truck driving, which afforded her the opportunity to travel and see the country.

Marion thoroughly enjoyed reading, playing bingo and the lottery, and traveling. A true thrift and bargain shopper, she could, and would, negotiate on any purchase she could. Of course, shopping was a must in Marion’s life as well. She loved going all out for people and gifting them with her finds and purchases. Truly, she spent time with family for everything and was actively involved in their lives. She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Marion is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Ricky and Starla Holland of Ontario; grandchildren: Cassandra Marcum, Cheyenne (Dylan) Stull, Ricky Holland, Jr., Dominic Holland (Mark Scheck), and Noah Holland (Tyler Harris); great grandchildren: Derrick, Elijah, Millie, Rose, Jayce, Dylan Jr., Kolton, Bentley, and Hudson; siblings: Niles (Shirley) Oehrli, Robert (Lee) Oehrli, Josepha (Wynona) Oehrli, Sherry Brooks, Lori Coward, and James Oehrli; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition to her parents and beloved Mimi, Marion was preceded in death by an infant brother, Steven Oehrli.

Calling hours and funeral services will not be observed. A donation to a charity involving juvenile diabetes, the nursing or trucking career, or breast cancer would be an appropriate way to honor Marion and some things she respected throughout her life.

Care for Marion and her family is being provided by the Penwell Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, Ohio 44875. Condolences may be left on their website (PenwellTurner.com) or Facebook page (Facebook.com/PenwellFuneral).
