Margaret Keener, passed away on Sunday, February, 4, 2024 at Brethren Care Village of Ashland.

Margaret was born in Ashland, Ohio on May 30, 1940. She was the daughter of Stewart and Hazel (Gilt) Riffle. Margaret worked at Abbot Labs for over 25 years, and was a volunteer at Ashland Credit Union. She treasured having her family and friends over, and they certainly benefited as well because she was an exquisite cook. Laughter was an essential to Margaret and her sense of humor made that easy to come by. Margaret was considerate of others and would always go out of her way to help someone in need. She adored animals, especially dogs as she always had one as a part of her family. Margaret loved to travel all over the country. She was a member of Chapter #92 Order of the Eastern Star. In her spare time, she could be found crocheting or shopping.

She is survived by her children, Debbie Ambrose and Rodger (Robin) Kaufman; grandchildren, Amy (Joe) Lacivita, Andy (Kenzie) Ambrose and Nicholas Kaufman; great-grandchildren, Kaleb (Sara) Ambrose, Rhett, Ambrose, and Ella Banks; great-great-grandchildren, Aiden Ambrose and Zayne Kaufman; sister, Gladis Gilt; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and special friends, Vaughn Greenhill, Naomi Wander, Barb Burns, and Rose Mlay. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard Keener; and her brothers, Gene Riffle and Bob Riffle.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Brethren Care Village for the love and care provided to Margaret during her time there.

A Celebration of Life will be held later in the spring. Margaret will be laid to rest in Nankin Cemetery. Wappner Funeral Directors-Ashland is honored to serve the Keener family.
