Dear Mansfield Citizens,
I wanted to drop you a quick note about something super important to our community the
Mansfield Water Main Initiative for Fire Safety. It’s a big deal, and I think it’s something we all need to get behind.
Let’s talk about water for a second. We all know it’s essential for so many things, including firefighting.
But here’s the thing — our fire protection systems rely on our water infrastructure being top-notch.
Right now, though, those aging water mains need serious improvement.
They’re just not cutting it. Leaks, low pressure, low-flow or no-flow hydrants—you name it, they’ve got it.
And that’s a real problem when it comes to putting out fires fast.
This isn’t a small problem — it’s a big one.
Here are the facts: we have 60 miles of disintegrating pipe that needs to be replaced. This pipe serves almost 400 fire hydrants that are either “Low-flow” or “No-flow.”
This affects over 2400 addresses scattered across all 6 wards of the City of Mansfield.
I’m asking you to join me in getting behind the Mansfield Water Main Initiative for Fire Safety.
It’s not just about fire safety — it’s about investing in the future of our community.
Let’s make sure we are doing everything we can do to keep Mansfield safe and thriving.
Thanks for listening.
Sincerely,
Brian Schmidt
