Christopher Andrew Lucius, age 40, of Mansfield, died Monday, February 5, 2024 at his home.

Chris was born January 19, 1984 in Shelby and was a 2002 graduate of Shelby High School and Pioneer Career and Technology Center’s Graphic Art’s Program. Chris was artistically expressive and incredibly creative. He drew, wrote songs, played music, and had also been in a band. Chris enjoyed reading non-fiction and American History books but, most of all, loved being with friends.

Chris is survived by his mother and step-father: Sarah (Reese) and Steve Shifley of Haines City, FL; his brother: Scott (Jessica) Lucius of Lexington, KY; God parents: Laura Leach and Duane Lucius; step-grandmother: Betty Shifley; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, including: Rochelle Surgener, Alyssa Vogt, Nathan Fike, and David Fike. Chris was preceded in death by his father, Edward W. Lucius, and grandparents, Paul and Patricia Reese and Eileen and Ronald Kurtz.

Family and friends are welcome on Saturday, February 10, 2024 from 12 noon to 2 pm at the Penwell Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, Ohio 44875. Funeral services will immediately follow the visitation at 2 pm with close friend, Cory Wells, officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Richland Academy of the Arts (Richlandacademy.com/give/).
