Letter to the Editor in purple lettering on envelope

Government is a necessary component of society. If you disagree then I invite you to consider what it would be like to live in a weakly-governed country.

There are several around the world to choose from. Me, I like having public services. Especially the emergency ones. They’ve saved my mom at least twice. I also like roads and parks. And I like being able to drink out of my faucet.

All thanks to a working government. The partisan politics that exist in our society is grinding that government to a halt.

The Democratic and Republican Parties have been hijacked by extremists. They no longer have interest in governing. Their interest lies in whoever is pulling their puppet strings.

Even when one of the parties implements a good idea, the other party will move heaven and earth to sabotage it rather than allow a good idea to help the country.

This two-party system leaves us little alternative but to accept self-interested candidates who are more loyal to their puppet masters than they are to their constituents.

The Forward Party offers a healthier alternative. Not right, not left, but Forward! The Forward Party is about finding practical solutions to resolvable issues.

The Forward Party is for the middle 60% of us who are more interested in addressing issues than spreading talking points.

With the extremists in charge of our two-party system, most of the population is being left out.

We have an opportunity to take it back. It has to be a third party. Both the Democratic and Republican parties have clearly demonstrated their unwillingness to compromise.

Ask yourself; do you trust either party to move our country in a healthy direction?

I urge you to consider the Forward Party. Look it up. The link is below. Familiarize yourself with the platform. Then ask yourself; will I be part of the solution?

Soon, you may see my smiling face, or that of a colleague, asking you to sign a petition to request the Forward Party be recognized for minor party status so candidates can run on the ticket in Ohio and give voters their healthy alternative.

Thank you for reading,
