MANSFIELD — Indie rock duo Oddepoxy, comprising Lee McIntosh and Orie Rush, cordially invite the community to the premiere of their latest music video, Algebra 2, at Relax, It’s Just Coffee.
This video marks the continuation of the Algebra story which debuted with the initial Algebra video released in December 2017.

The Algebra narrative commenced with a series of disappearances and the advent of a mysterious character that confounded two detectives in their quest for truth, leading them deeper into enigma.
In Algebra 2, a traumatized detective grappling with reality descends into madness as he confronts a haunting messenger compelling him to reckon with the past.
All roles in the video are portrayed by current or former Oddepoxy members, each contributing significantly to the storyline.
Both music videos were masterminded by Oddepoxy drummer Lee McIntosh and his company, Potent Studios, specializing in Poster Design, Video, 3D Animation, Lighting, Design, Branding, and Audio.
Oddepoxy debuted their first record in 2013 with the original lineup of Rush (Vocals), McIntosh (Drums), and Alex Montgomery (Bass). Over the past decade, the band has graced numerous regional and local stages.
McIntosh reflected on the inspiration behind the video.
“The song and video’s direction evolved over time, becoming an outlet for me to process the loss of a dear friend to cancer 13 years ago,” McIntosh said.
“Film allows me to communicate complex emotions like isolation and grief without words, giving me the space to navigate my feelings when I’m ready.”
Algebra 2 has been in development since 2021, with filming spanning from April 2021 to May 2022, and the editing process initiated alongside filming, culminating in completion in January 2024.
“I’m thrilled with the outcome. Allowing the process to unfold naturally enabled me to ensure the story resonated authentically,” McIntosh said.
Originally conceived as a remix of the original song Algebra, Algebra 2 underwent significant changes that warranted its identity as a separate entity, albeit with the same thematic roots.
The video premiere at Relax, It’s Just Coffee is fitting, given its longstanding reputation as a creative hub.
Oddepoxy eagerly anticipates the community’s participation in this landmark event, a testament to years of dedicated labor and creative vision.
