MANSFIELD — Stingel Elementary School was abuzz with excitement as 4th and 5th grade students showcased their exceptional spelling expertise in the annual Stingel Spelling Bee on December 19th. 

The event drew a large and enthusiastic audience of fellow students, teachers, and parents eager to witness the impressive display of linguistic skills.

The contestants demonstrated remarkable confidence as they stepped up to the microphone to tackle challenging words. The words ranged from everyday vocabulary to more complex terms, putting the young spellers’ abilities to the test.

After several rounds of competition, three finalists emerged as the top spellers. The first-place winner was 5th-grader Isaac Hohman, second place was fourth-grader Charlie Yoakam, and third place was fourth-grader Tyrin Kirst.

These three students continued their competition on January 25th as contestants in the Richland County Spelling Bee. In an impressive third-place finish in the County Bee, Tyrin Kirst will compete against students from grades 4-8 in the Tri-County Spelling Bee on February 15th. 

The Spelling Bee highlighted the academic achievements and hard work of each member of the Stingel Spelling Bee Team. Way to go Spellers!
