Another chapter in the winter book of 2024 is about to be written.
The National Weather Service office in Cleveland has issued a hazardous weather outlook for north central Ohio from Thursday through Tuesday, forecasting the heaviest snow of the winter thus far.
The NWS is cautioning area residents that multiple rounds of snow will occur Thursday through Friday. Moderate to heavy snow is possible Thursday night into Friday, meteorologists said, with 4 to 6 inches of snow possible.
Temperatures, however, are expected to be a bit less bone chilling with highs reaching into the 20s.
Here is the way the next few days are shaping up:
Wednesday night:
A slight chance of snow after 2 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 17. Southwest wind 13 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
Thursday
A chance of snow, mainly before 4 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 25. Southwest winds will reach 8 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Thursday night
Snow, mainly after midnight. Low around 18. Light and variable wind becoming northerly around 6 mph in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
Friday
Snow showers. High near 22. North wind 7 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.
Friday night
A chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 4. West wind 14 to 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
