BELLVILLE — Rubies Women’s Group is hosting its annual fundraising gala at the Deer Ridge Golf Club next month.
Rubies’ mission is to help human trafficking and addiction survivors find self-worth and faith in God through group Bible studies and faith-based counseling. Rubies provides all housing, clothing, hygiene, food and transportation for its residents.
Candace Watson-Cole founded the nonprofit in 2016. It can house up to six residents at any time, but the team is working to expand its housing capacity at a new facility.
The funds raised from the “Love for Rubies” banquet will support Rubies’ expenses and help it minister to more women to bring them out of human trafficking and/or addiction.
Banquet tickets are $55 per person or $400 for a table of seven. RSVP is due by Feb. 12 and those interested can select their meal and sides online.
The banquet will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 23. Deer Ridge Golf Club is located at 900 Comfort Plaza Drive in Bellville.
