Scott Thomas Schaut

Scott Thomas Schaut, 67, passed away at Country Meadow Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility on Tuesday, July 4, 2023.

Scott was born on Sept. 7, 1955 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  He was the son of Bernard and Charlotte (Stanczyk) Schaut.

Kind, generous and always willing to help others, Scott had a genuine heart. An all-around history buff and true historian, Scott knew everything about Mansfield History, and was a published author of Mansfield history.

He took pride in helping to restore the Mansfield 1812 Blockhouse. Since 1995, he was the curator at the Mansfield Memorial Museum. He worked tirelessly on any and all projects that he took on at the museum.

He enjoyed helping others with estate sales and auctions. He would assess the value of their items that they would be selling. He was an animal lover, especially all of his cats.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Lisa Ann Schaut.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 22, 2023 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Mansfield Memorial Museum, 34 Park Ave. West.  Memorial contributions may be made to S.T.O.P, 1152 Lexington Ave., Mansfield, OH 44907 or Milwaukee Humane Society, 4500 W. Wisconsin Ave. Milwaukee, WI 53208.
