A loving, caring hard working Betty Jo Myers Hammond, age 96, of Bellville passed away Thursday, May 4, 2023 at her home and reached her destination with God.
Born August 9, 1926 in New Salem, Ohio to Stanley and Velma Williams, she was raised on a farm in Butler.
Betty was a graduate of Butler High School class of 1944, She worked for 35 years at General Industries in Bellville, retiring in 1990. She was a member of Bellville American Legion Auxiliary Post # 535 and also VFW Auxiliary Post # 5101.
The loved ones still on this Earth, that will miss her greatly are her memory are her children: Ronald (Jeanne) Berger and Patricia Fletcher, grandchildren: Jason (Erin) Berger; Shanna (Hughie) Dobbins; Derek (Lynneah) Fletcher; and Dan Fletcher, great-grandchildren: Maddie; Colin; Chloe; Kaylee; Emerson; Jada; Henry and Watson, sister Grace, several nieces and nephews, her beloved neighbors and one special family the Coppersmiths.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her spouses: Jim Berger; Robert Myers and Claude Hammond, her twin brother Bill, her brother Nielan, sister Clara May, nephew Sam Buckland and son-in-law Gene Fletcher.
Friends may call Wednesday May 10, 2023 from 1 PM – 3PM at the Bellville Chapel Snyder Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at Bellville Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Betty’s name may be made to Ohio Health Hospice.
