Frank X. Kleshinski, 75, of Mansfield passed away March 3, 2023 at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital.
Frank was born April 24, 1947 in Mansfield to Sylvester and Magdalen Sebastian Kleshinski. He was a 1965 graduate of St. Peter’s, continued his education at John Carroll University and then obtained his Masters in Criminal Justice at Xavier University. He worked in Human Services teaching at the Mansfield Reformatory and was a passionate professional serving children and adolescents. Frank was deeply committed to informed and active citizenship, causes that pertained to the welfare of individuals and saving the environment. He was an avid canine lover, enjoyed reading and the Great Books, and his time building fires each night in the family fireplace.
Survivors include his devoted wife Mary Ann Gawelek; they shared 40 years together; children Terra (Mike) Bonte and Ryan Kleshinski; grandchildren Jacob Bonte and Riley Kleshinski; sister Cathy (Dick) Stout; brother Stephen (Marina) Kleshinski; brothers-in-law Randy (Marilyn) Gawelek, John (Mary Ann) Gawelek; and his loyal companion, his dog Cody Quinn; along with many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Mary Beth Carey and brother John Kleshinki.
Friends may call at Herlihy Funeral Home, 173 Park Avenue West, on Monday from 4-6pm. A funeral service will take place at 6:00pm. Burial will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter’s School in support of teachers’ development.
