MANSFIELD — A man was arrested and 435 grams of methamphetamine were seized during a traffic stop on Thursday in Mansfield, according to Lt. Steve Blust of the METRICH Enforcement Unit.
Elijah Myers, 21, was charged with second-degree felony drug possession and is being held at the Richland County jail, Blust stated in a press release. Further charges will be presented to the Richland County Prosecutors office.
According to the press release, METRICH detectives conducted an investigation into illegal drugs entering into the Mansfield, Richland County community. The vehicle stop took place in the 600 block of South Diamond Street in Mansfield by Mansfield Police Patrol and METRICH detectives.
Blust stated this was a direct result of cooperation amongst partner Law Enforcement agencies and tips received from the community.
“The METRICH Enforcement Unit will continue to seek those that pollute our streets with narcotics,” Blust said. “All citizens are encourgaed to continue reporting suspected drug activity.”
