LEXINGTON — Four Lexington players hit twin digits in the scoring column to knock off Wooster 69-66 in Tuesday night’s Ohio Cardinal Conference boys basketball game.
The victory keeps the Minutemen undefeated at 8-0 overall and 6-0 in the OCC. The victory pushes coach Scott Hamilton’s team to the top spot alone in the conference after Ashland stunned Mansfield Senior on Tuesday night.
Baden Forup led Lexington with a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds. Freshman Brayden Fogle contributed 19 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Elijah Hudson added 14 points and Gavin Husty drilled three treys and finished with 11 points.
The Minutemen were 24-of-50 from the field (48 percent) and 6 of 10 from behind the arc (60 percent).
Lexington opened a 15-11 first-quarter lead and expanded it to 35-23 at halftime. The Generals sliced the gape to 49-39 heading to the final quarter and continued the rally in the final period before coming up short.
Brady Bowen pumped in 20 points and handed out 5 assists for Wooster. Caleb Scott backed him with 17 points, while Blake Bowen chipped in 13 points.
The Generals (5-6, 3-3) will host Madison on Friday night.
The Minutemen host West Holmes on Friday night.
