Mt. Vernon designs winning blueprint against West Holmes

Mt. Vernon turned in a solid effort to wrap up a 49-36 win over West Holmes in Ohio boys basketball action on December 9.

West Holmes showed it was ready to play, using an early thrust to carve out a 16-8 advantage over Mt. Vernon as the first quarter ended.

A halftime tie at 20-20 allowed for a respite as both teams looked to regroup in the locker room.

Mt. Vernon darted to a 36-26 bulge over West Holmes as the fourth quarter began.

Conditioning showed as the Yellow Jackets outscored the Knights 13-10 in the fourth quarter.
