ONTARIO — The Humane Society of Richland County (HSRC) is looking to the community after their Humane Agents have seized 18 dogs from heart breaking, inhumane neglect this past week.

“Cases like these will require a lot of veterinary and staff care to ensure we get these poor animals back to both physical and mental health,” stated Linda Chambers, Executive Director. “We have a small but dedicated staff working tirelessly to help these dogs get the care they so desperately need.

“We may need to adjust our shelter hours for several days so please check our Facebook page for updates.”

The HSRC is a non-profit organization and runs 100% on donations. It is not affiliated with any other organizations or any state, local or national governments.

“We are looking to our community to help with monetary donations for vet care for the animals,” continued Chambers. “We do need 4% cottage cheese to help with weight gain.

“Many of the dogs are literally skin and bones.”

Anyone wishing to donate money can do so through the website adoptourstrays.com, on their Facebook page or drop off at the back door of the shelter located at 3025 Park Ave West, Mansfield, OH 44906.

They also have an Amazon Wish List that can be accessed by this link: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/CZTD30V2Z36X/ref=hz_ls_biz_ex?fbclid=IwAR0leS4MyQ0SbQT-AI8IcAo6RPh5xWpMKrRtpMQQeDi-6QNZLeMPehQ9Qpw

The animals are still being assessed and will not be up for adoption as these are currently active cases.

When available, they will be posted on the website, adoptourstrays.com and Facebook page. A completed application and appointment is necessary for adoption.
