HOWARD — East Knox scored first, but Colonel Crawford scored far more often to topple the Bulldogs 37-7 in Friday night’s high school football action.

East Knox quarterback Bracen Davis tossed a 13-yard touchdown pass to Carson Steinmetz put coach Andy Beatty’s team on top 7-0 in the first quarter.

But C.C. clawed right back. Trevor Vogt peeled off a 28-yard TD dash and Lucas Foy added the conversion run to nudge the Eagles ahead 8-7 heading to the second period.

That’s when Colonel Crawford (3-0) took charge.

Tanner Dyer scored on back-to-back scoring runs, of 8 and 4 yards, respectively. Matt Clinard’s 1-yard plunge made it 29-7 at the half.

C.C. finished the scoring on Vogt’s 88-yard kickoff return to open the second half, and Jacob Maddy’s two-point conversion blast triggered a running clock through the final two periods.

Colonel Crawford had the edge in first downs (10-7), rushing yards (187-100) and total yards (224-138).

East Knox dips to 1-3 heading into next week’s game at Centerburg.

The Eagles travel to Bucyrus on Friday.
