COLUMBUS — The 92nd annual Ohio State Convention for the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) will take place on Sept. 16 and 17 in Columbus, Ohio.
“The Power of Us” is the theme for this year’s conference which will be held at the Crowne Plaza Columbus North — Worthington 6500 Doubletree Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43229.
“The Theme: “The Power of Us” is so poignant for this year, as we continue to grapple with the horrific after-effects of the murder of George Perry Floyd, gerrymandering and redistricting, and a Stand Your Ground law that impedes upon the Civil and Human Rights of Black and Brown Americans,” said Mr. Tom Roberts, President of the Ohio Conference NAACP.
Roberts would like to encourage all members of the NAACP as well as their guests to take advantage of this dynamic slate of speakers and workshops will include information on: housing, business development, education and voting. Friday evening, attendees are invited to network, unwind and dance at Power Party 22.
Don’t miss this opportunity to show your support and connect with other activists from around the state. Registration for the two-day conference for delegates is $125 for Adults and $30 for Youth. Guest registration is $25.
Hotel rooms can be reserved for the conference by calling The Crowne Plaza 614-885-1885 or @ http://www.cpcolumbusnorth.com. To register for the conference contact the local NAACP office: secretary@naacpmansfieldoh.org.
