BUCYRUS — The Crawford Soil and Water Conservation District, in conjunction with OSU Extension, will be hosting a Manure Nutrient Management Field Day on Aug. 30 at Reinhard-Scott Seeds South of Bucyrus.

There is no cost to attend the field day and lunch will be provided for all registered participants. The day will begin at 9 a.m. with featured speaker Jennifer Yost discussing “Manure and It’s Benefit to Soil Health.” She is a Soil Scientist with USDA-ARS out of Temple, Texas.

Also speaking will be Dr. Scott Shearer, OSU Professor and FABE Chair, presenting on the ”Latest in Application Technology”. Other topics include “Cover Crops & Manure” – Mike Adams of Scott-Reinhard seeds; “Benefits of Composting Manure” – Eric Richer, OSUE and “Using Poultry Litter” – Taylor Dill, OSUE.

The day’s events will wrap up in the field with manure equipment demonstration’s after lunch. This information packed field day is graciously being sponsored by Hord Family Farms, Burkhart Farm Center, Ag Credit – Bucyrus and Reinhard-Scott Seeds.
