ASHLAND — Luke Denbow keeps collecting hardware.
Ashland’s high-scoring senior guard, Denbow was selected to the All-Northwest District first team by a panel of Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association members.
The all-district teams were announced Wednesday evening.
The 6-foot-1 Denbow averaged 28.3 points, 6.9 rebounds and 5.8 assists a game, leading the Arrows to the outright Ohio Cardinal Conference championship. He was the OCC Player of the Year and the Division I Player of the Year in District 6 and will graduate as Ashland’s career scoring and assists leader.
Denbow’s Ashland teammate, Grayson Steury, was a second team pick. The junior guard averaged 18.6 points a game.
Madison’s Jayden Jeffries joined Steury on the all-district second team. A 6-foot-4 junior, Jeffries averaged 17.8 points a game.
Ashland’s Luke Jurjevic and Madison’s Levi Zehner and Isaac Brooks were all-district honorable mention selections. Jurjevic averaged 10.5 points and 9.6 rebounds a game before a knee injury cut his season short. Zehner averaged 10.7 points a game while Books was good for 10.5 points a night.
On the girls side, Madison’s Faith Kuhn earned a spot on the All-Northwest District first team in Division I. The 6-foot-3 senior averaged 17.2 points and 10.2 rebounds a game. Kuhn shared the District 6 Division I Player of the Year award with Fremont Ross’ Destiny Robinson and was an OCC first team pick.
Ashland’s Makaree Chapman was an honorable mention selection. The freshman averaged 10.3 points and 4.3 rebounds a game for the Arrows.
