Dr. Sheng Liu hired as Chief Clinical Officer at Third Street Family Health Services

MANSFIELD — Third Street Family Health Services has hired Dr. Sheng Liu as Chief Clinical Officer (CCO) at its 600 West Third Street location in Mansfield.

Dr. Liu, who began work on Monday, Jan. 10, completed her family medicine residency at MetroHealth Medical Center, Case Western Reserve University.

After graduation, she began her medical career with MetroHealth and practiced full-spectrum hospital-based family medicine, including outpatient treatment, inpatient care, obstetrics, and long-term care for 19 years.

In addition to functioning as a clinician, Dr. Liu has served in many leadership roles and has always been a driving force for comprehensive, high-quality primary care.

In 2014, Dr. Liu became the Chief Medical Officer for an Ohio Federally Qualified Health Center. Her experience in practice management helped build the infrastructures and establish service lines for the start-up health center.

Her efforts promoted improved access to medically underserved populations and helped fill gaps in care. In 2019, Dr. Liu assumed the VP/Chief Medical Officer role for a Michigan community health center.

She enhanced many programs throughout her tenure. Dr. Liu came back to Ohio to meet her family’s needs, and Third Street is benefitting greatly from her transition.

Dr. Liu has a servant leadership style. Her passion is to assist patients in achieving their best health outcomes and support the clinical staff to achieve their highest potential.

She believes that community health centers are meaningful and vital in serving the healthcare needs of residents. Health centers impact the health of communities positively.

Dr. Liu will provide leadership and oversight of clinical program integration and will provide direct patient care. She is working with the leaders of each clinical department to ensure we decrease barriers to care and offer a cohesive patient centered approach to our services.
