MANSFIELD — Mansfield Senior dropped a wild, 58-54 affair to West Holmes in Friday night night’s Ohio Cardinal Conference affair at Pete Henry Gymnasium.

The Tygers jumped to a 14-7 first-quarter advantage, but the Knights rallied 27-21 halftime advantage. Senior High again responded to move on top 43-39 heading to the final eight minutes. But the Knights outscored Mansfield Senior 19-11 in the fourth period.

The Tygers have dropped five straight games in slipping to 4-10 overall, 2-6 in the OCC.

Maurice Ware topped Senior High with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Nathan Haney added nine points and Kyevi Roane contributed eight points.

Mansfield Senior made just 1-of-5 treys in the game, compared to 9-of-24 from behind the arc for West Holmes.

West Holmes improved to 7-6, 4-4.

Channer Wells posted 17 points to pace the Knights, while Zander Schultz added 16 and Blake Morrison had 12.

Senior High hosts Shelby on Tuesday, while Carrollton visits the Knights on Jan. 29.
