SHELBY – The FISH Food Pantry has moved into its long-awaited, new space in the new Shelby Help Line Building, directly behind the old building. The pantry’s volunteers have identified some specific needs.

The pantry is nearly completely out of these items: canned chili, canned beef stew, canned potatoes, canned chicken (in the tuna fish-sized cans), frosting (chocolate and vanilla), and egg noodles.

FISH is very low in these items: pudding cups (chocolate and vanilla), cake mixes (chocolate, white, and yellow), strawberry jam, pasta sides, Spam, canned carrots, canned salmon, and boxed scalloped and cheesy potatoes.

FISH does not currently need canned green beans, canned corn, mac-n-cheese, spaghetti, spaghetti sauce, saltines, baked beans, canned pasta, Ramen noodles (chicken or beef). Please, please, please do not bring these items.

The FISH Food Pantry is open from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm on Mondays through Fridays. Donations can be dropped off during these hours. Please do not drop off items after hours, especially during freezing weather.

Organized in 1971 as a not-for-profit corporation, The FISH of Shelby, Inc. operates the food pantry that serves residents of the Shelby City School District. It is located in the Shelby Help Line Ministries building. Its Facebook page can be found at “FISH of Shelby.”
