MADISON TOWNSHIP — The Madison boys basketball team jumped to a big lead early and rode that advantage all the way home to drop Mansfield Senior 65-56 in an Ohio Cardinal Conference encounter on Tuesday night at Madison Middle School.
The Rams (5-4 overall, 1-3 in the OCC) opened a 15-5 first-quarter gap, and took a 32-28 edge into the halftime locker room. The margin expanded to 44-37 heading to the final eight minutes, and Chris Armstrong’s squad outscored the Tygers 21-19 in the fourth period.
Mansfield Sr. falls to 3-5, 1-3.
Madison travels to Ontario tonight. The Tygers host Ashland on Tuesday night.
