OLIVESBURG — Sophomore Jarek Ringler is going to become a familiar name in north central Ohio basketball circles.

The Crestview guard pumped in 20 points and teammate Heath Cash added 11 as the Cougars (2-0 overall, 1-0 in the Firelands Conference) rolled past Plymouth 56-43 on Friday night in a Firelands Conference matchup at Olivesburg.

Coach John Kurtz’s team edged ahead 12-10 after the first period, and opened the gap to 29-23 at halftime. The lead grew to 45-31 heading to the final eight minutes, and the Cougars coasted home.

Junior Carson Tucker topped Plymouth (1-2 overall, 0-1 in the Firelands Conference) with 10 points, while Josh Beebe chipped in nine.

The Big Red return to action Thursday at Western Reserve. Crestview hosts Crestline on Tuesday night.
