Darrell “Foot” L. Jones, Sr.

Darrell “Foot” L. Jones, Sr. passed away Saturday, October 16, 2021 following a brief illness. He was 67.

He was born June 29, 1954 in Mount Gilead, Ohio to parents Ernest and Donna (Park) Jones.

Darrell was a retired forklift technician and was a member of the NRA and the Morrow County Antique Tractor Association. Darrell enjoyed his John Deere mower collection, tinkering and fixing things for family, friends and neighbors, cutting and splitting wood, mowing and snow blowing for family, friends and neighbors. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandpets Payton, Diesel, Mack (a.k.a. the Bandit), Allie and Bill the bird.

He is survived by his wife Carolyn Jones whom he married on April 5, 1981 in North Woodberry; children Jeremy Jones, Kaylyn (Turner Sears) Jones and Darrell “D.J.” (Amanda) Jones Jr.; a “snack sharing“ Poppy to grandchildren Chevelle Jones, Braiden Jones, Aries Breneman and Ryleigh Jones; step grandchildren Cayden Kunkle, Alivia Kunkle and Gracie Childers. Special “daughters“ Cori Collins and Brittany Crane; special nephew Ricky Justice; favorite cousins Bill (Michelle) Park, Andy Park and Paul Etgen; special friends Susie (Bobby Gekler) Gossett and Dale Fellure as well as numerous extended family.

In addition to his parents, Darrell was preceded in death by father-in-law Chuck Jeffries; nephew Eric Anderson II and good friend Larry Crawford.

The family will receive friends Thursday, October 28 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Homes. The family asks that all attendees wear their John Deere attire. A funeral service honoring Darrell’s life will be held Friday, October 29 beginning at 11 AM. Celebrant Dave Roberts will officiate. Burial will follow in Shauck Cemetery.
