JEROMESVILLE — Jake Hoverstock ran for two touchdowns and threw for another to lead Hillsdale to a 52-13 pounding of Rittman in Friday night’s Wayne County Athletic League football game.
The Falcons were dominant on both sides of the ball, and rolled from the opening kick. Hillsdale took a 20-0 first-quarter lead, and opened the gap to 46-0 at halftime.
The entire second half was played with a running clock. The Falcons led 52-7 through three quarters and coasted home to improve to 2-2 overall.
Seven different Falcons were involved in scoring plays. Hoverstock ran for 107 yards and passed for 57 more. Max Vesper ran for 71 yards and a touchdown.
Hillsdale’s defense was outstanding, forcing four Indians’ turnovers, including three interceptions. The Falcons allowed just one yard passing, four first downs, and 182 yards in total offense.
Rittman dropped to 2-2 overall, and returns home next week to host Northwestern.
Hillsdale travels to Norwayne on Friday night.
