MANSFIELD — The Mansfield branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People 3190 is sponsoring a free program with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) to help employers avoid discriminating practices and help workers understand how to file a workplace discrimination complaint.

Marcel Baldwin, from the Cleveland office of the EEOC, will present the virtual program during a Zoom presentation on Thursday, Sept. 23, 2021 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. One goal of the presentation is to help business owners and HR professionals understand the laws enforced by EEOC and how to prevent and correct discrimination in the workplace.

The program will also provide information to help workers, job seekers and advocacy groups understand their rights and the ways in which the EEOC can help them achieve workplace equity.

Topics during this informative presentation will include:

* EEOC and NAACP overviews and updates,

* The EEOC’s charge and mediation processes,

* ADA/Covid, and workplace discrimination and harassment.
