LOUDONVILLE — The St. Peter’s boys and Loudonville girls claimed Mid-Buckeye Conference track championships on Saturday afternoon.
The Redbirds hosted the event.
Zach Keffalas paced the Spartans with a pair of wins in the 800-meter run (2:13.07) and the 3,200-meter run (11:32.92). He was also runner-up in the 1,600-meter run (4:51.81) to Mansfield Christian’s Andre Harrison (4:48.98).
St. Peter’s teammates who earned victories included: Donovan Duncan in the 110-meter hurdles (15.18 seconds), John Harris in the 300-meter hurdles (43.92 seconds), Albree Grose in the 200-meter run (23.54 seconds) and Peyton Bodnar in the 400-meter run (53.62).
The Spartans notched relay crowns in the 4×100 (46.07 seconds), 4×200 (1:36.39), and 4×400 (3:49.47),
St. Peter’s posted 192 points to outdistance the field. Loudonville was second at 175.5 points, with Crestline third at 116.5, Lucas was fourth (101) and Mansfield Christian totaled 35 points.
On the girls’ side, the Redbirds followed the lead of Catlyn Kauffman, who won three championships and was part of a winning relay team. Kauffman topped the field in the 1,600-meter run (5:59.85), 800-meter run (2:39.14), and 400-meter run (1:04.04). She was also the lead leg in the 4×400-meter relay which busted the tape first.
Among Loudonville’s other individual champions were Kenzi Cutlip in the 100 meters (13.40) and long jump (16 feet, 3.25 inches), Kadee Vrankovic in the 3,200-meter run (13:10.82), Jaden Reddix in the high jump (4-feet, 6 inches), Olivia Withrow in the pole vault (7-feet, 6 inches), and Allison Cawrse in the shot put (32 feet, 4 inches).
The Redbirds claimed relay titles in the 4×800 (11:30.02), 4×400 (4:51.00), and 4×100 (52.02).
Loudonville’s girls dominated the meet with 240 points. Lucas was second with 121, followed by Crestline (52), St. Peter’s (29) and Mansfield Christian (28).
