MANSFIELD — The coming blizzard has brought COVID-19 vaccination sites to a halt at OhioHealth and Avita Health System.

Both providers announced that vaccination clinics scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 16 will be postponed due to the approaching winter storm. This includes clinics at OhioHealth’s primary care offices at 770 Balgreen Drive in Mansfield and 199 West Main Street in Shelby and all Avita locations.

“If you are scheduled to receive a vaccine tomorrow at Avita Ontario, Galion or Bucyrus Hospitals and have not heard from us, we are trying to reach you,” a notice on Avita’s website stated.

People who had a vaccination scheduled through Avita on Feb. 16 should call the vaccine hotline at 419-468-0800 to reschedule.

Patients who were scheduled to receive a vaccination from OhioHealth on Feb. 16 will be contacted and have their appointments rescheduled for later this week, media relations manager Colin Yoder said.

Yoder said 51 vaccinations in Mansfield and 24 in Shelby have to be rescheduled due to the storm.

“We do not see the need at this time to cancel Wednesday, Thursday or Friday appointments,” he added.

Yoder also said that if someone with a vaccination appointment scheduled later in the week needs to reschedule due to weather conditions, they can call the vaccine hotline at 614-533-6999.
