In Covid-19 2020 Richland County Breast Cancer patients and survivors still received assistance thanks to the combined efforts of the Richland County community and the Pat Kracker Breast Cancer Fund.
“We processed forty requests for help in 2020,” says Dave Kracker, Richland County Breast Cancer Fund founder.
The Pat Kracker Breast Cancer Fund fights breast cancer in Richland County. It was established in memory of Pat Kracker, a Richland County resident who lost her battle with breast cancer on her 61st birthday. The Fund will be celebrating its 25th anniversary later this year.
“Our ability to help people in 2020 was due to the phenomenal people of Richland County who committed their time and monies to fight local breast cancer,” says Rhonda Breit, Pat Kracker Chairperson. “The Covid-19 pandemic created a challenging year for our fundraising friends. Group settings were not possible and our sponsors had to be creative in finding alternative ways to help us financially.”
In 2020 the Pat Kracker Breast Cancer Fund continued to conduct its early detection campaign with the help of the Richland County media. “We will continue to attend, speak, exhibit, and participate where we can during the pandemic,” says Rhonda.
“Twenty-one Richland County organizations found a way to help fight the emotions and financial pain caused by this deadly disease. All of Richland County should be proud of their work,” says Dave.
