MANSFIELD — The Mansfield Division of Police realizes that COVID-19 has negatively impacted countless families this Holiday Season and many loved ones cannot be home during Christmas.
With this in mind, the Mansfield Police have reached out to local first responders and Ohio Health Mansfield, in an effort to bring a little joy to the challenges of 2020.
On Wednesday, Dec. 23 at 8 p.m., numerous Richland County law enforcement agencies, fire departments, OhioHealth Mansfield and Pro Care will participate in a procession around the hospital with the support of local radio station WVNO and WMFD TV.
Santa will make an appearance as a vehicle caravan of first responders, with flashing emergency lights, makes a couple of passes around the hospital to festive Christmas music provided by Mix 106. This local effort is to honor those patients who cannot be home with their families during the Holiday Season.
This event is being held simultaneously in conjunction with other planned caravans in Ashland, Crawford, Knox, Morrow, and Huron counties.
The community is encouraged to listen to Mix 106FM and/or follow the event on WMFD’s Facebook page or WMFD.com. Anyone with questions in regards to the Richland County event at OhioHealth Mansfield, can call Sgt. Jon Ahles of the Mansfield Division of Police at 419-755-9740.
