The Ohio economy is re-opening in stages due to COVID-19, but Mother Nature may prefer you stay inside just one more night.

Thunderstorms are expected to develop and move across north central this afternoon and evening. Some storms may be severe with damaging winds of more than 50 miles per hour and large hail possible.

The best timing for potential severe thunderstorms will be from Thursday at 4 p.m. until Friday at 2 a.m., according to the National Weather Service office in Cleveland.

The NWS has issued a hazardous weather outlook for the entire region, including Richland, Ashland, Knox and Crawford counties.

Residents can stay updated by visiting the NWS storm prediction center website.

The greatest threat for severe storms will be across northwest Ohio.

Heavy rainfall is possible, especially across areas where storms continuously track.

Rain is likely throughout Thursday with a high near 74. Tonight’s low will be around 62.

Friday doesn’t look a lot better, even as the state’s restaurants and bars are allowed to begin outside services again. There is a chance of showers and thunderstorms all day and into the evening.
