Any Richland County voters who have not already voted (through early voting prior to March 17) may request an absentee ballot application by calling (419) 774-5530 or by completing and printing an application at the Richland County Board of Elections website.
Applications must be received by noon on Saturday and ballots must be returned by April 28. If returning voted absentee ballot by mail, they must be postmarked by Monday. If dropping off a completed absentee ballot, must be received at the Board of Elections by April 28 at 7:30 p.m.)
BELLVILLE — Bellville voters are voting on a renewal tax levy on the primary election ballot, funds that support the village’s general fund.
Bellville Mayor Teri Brenkus said the five-year, 3-mill renewal levy will help fund expenses such as street lighting, park expenses and maintenance in the village hall.
“Little things come that come out of the general fund are funded by this (levy),” she said. “The general fund also feeds part of the police department’s fund. This levy helps with that.”
The tax levy first passed in 2010. According to the Richland County Auditor’s Office, a villager with a $100,000 home can expect to pay $105 per year for the levy.
Brenkus said it would be hard to maintain the current condition of the village without passage of the issue.
The primary election also features two local options for Sunday liquor sales.
7-Eleven at 2264 S. Main St. in Mansfield and Cypress Hill Winery, LLC, at 51 E. Fourth St. in Mansfield seek approval to sell wine and mixed beverages and spirituous liquor on Sundays between 10 a.m. and midnight.
