MANSFIELD — Multiple personalities will be on display Saturday, Jan. 18, at 5 p.m. at La LUNA, which is located at 32 North Walnut Street.
Several local artists will celebrate the start of 2020 by showcasing new and original art on Saturday at “Membrane Constellation.”
Artists with different backgrounds and media forms have challenged themselves personally by creating new works based on an ever changing theme.
The theme for the upcoming Membrane Constellation exhibition is “Me Versus Me” and each artist is encouraged to interpret the theme how they see fit. Past themes included creating a piece based on a childhood memory, incorporating the color green, and creating art with another artist. In addition to visual art, this Membrane Constellation exhibition will feature live music by Shelby Shade and Scott Miller who will perform original music inspired by “Me Versus Me.” Poets are encouraged to come and share their poetry during the open mic portion of the evening.
“‘Me versus Me’ was a theme suggested by artists at the last membrane last summer, said Aurelio Diaz,” who owns the La Luna building. “It’s a show about inner duality and examine different aspects of our personalities.”
Artists featuring work will include Morgan Hershey, Raven Starr, Madison Lang, Christina Ratino, Cindy Fowler, Neil Yoder, Jason Ned Kaufman, Lucas Hargis, Alison Rae Bach, Victoria Hoefler, Sharon Kimes, Robin Murphy, Ginger Patterson, Scott Miller, Matthew Shepherd, Tim Denis, Crystal Stokes, Brandon Penny, Aurelio Villa Luna Diaz, Jordan Markovic, Molly Delaney, Cory Huff, Drew Anderson, Christopher Weidinger, and Christopher Medina.
Light refreshments will be provided including beverages.
