Be prepared to ring in the New Year with a return of Old Man Winter, north central Ohio.

In case you missed it, it got colder on Monday with temps dipping down to around 29 overnight. It remained gusty with winds up to 30 miles an hour and a bit of snow.

The National Weather Service office in Cleveland predicts snow showers today, mainly before 4 p.m., with a high reaching only 32.

It will be breezy with west winds around 20 miles an hour, gusting up to 38 mph. The chance of precipitation is 100 percent with new snow accumulation of around an inch possible.

There is a chance of snow showers on New Year’s Eve evening, though mainly before 8 p.m. Otherwise, it will be cloudy with a low around 25. Winds will be from the west at 15 to 17 miles per hour, gusting up to 30. 

The chance of precipitation Tuesday night is 30 percent with new snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Not to worry, though. It will be warmer, albeit still wet, as the week goes on, with temps reaching the mid 50s by Friday.
