LUCAS — Today, nearly all of Richland County will claim “we are Lucas.”
Few things galvanize a community quite like high school sports, and Richland Source wanted to help the region show its support for Mansfield Senior and Lucas, as each tries to make history with a state championship.
Nearly 300 people took the time to write a message of support for the Tygers and Cubs throughout their playoff run.
If you’re one of those people, we’d like to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
The Cubs (12-2) play Maria Stein Marion Local (12-2) this morning at 10 a.m. for the Division VII state championship.

The Lucas championship run has meant a lot to my family and I. Being able to see my dad prepare every day to get the job done at the end of the week is something I love watching. He is so dedicated to his team and his job. Our family has football running through our veins. Ever since I was born I was running around on the football field at my dad’s practices.
