Since 2011, Paul and Pam Smith have opened the community of Mansfield up to a new realm of artistry, expression and good drinks with The Happy Grape, the first retail wine bar in the area.

“We love our community and our customers. We get to be a part of all the great things that are happening,” Smith said.

As a team, Pam and Paul support numerous local small businesses by purchasing their products and investing in the community whenever possible, including the artist community. They host monthly art galleries that showcase a new artist each month.

“Unlike traditional art installations, we return 100% of the artists’ sale price to them,” Smith said. “This allows our artists to have another display venue while providing our guests with an opportunity to own these one-of-a-kind pieces, while increasing the artists income to continue to create their work. We work with our staff to provide an exemplary experience while spending time with us.”

Throughout the holiday season, The Happy Grape will be offering specialty cocktails, holiday craft beers on tap from the east coast to the west coast including Ohio favorites and several events coming up this year including their annual Sip & Shop event on Saturday, Dec. 7. New menu items and lunch specials will be available now that they are open at 11 a.m. on Saturdays.

“Every new thing that we see going on is just another affirmation that we made the right choice by doing what we did,” Smith said. “Our guests have become our friends and we have a blast creating new and exciting happenings.”

“We have a very loyal following of guests that have become friends. We like to make everyone feel that they are visiting us as a friend, and our staff truly reflects that sentiment.”
