JEROMESVILLE — Quarterback Caden Mutchler fired a pair of long touchdown passes to receiver Colt Bishop and Brandon Reardon eclipsed 100 yards and added another score as Hillsdale thumped Mapleton 31-7 on Friday night in the season opener for both schools.

Reardon’s 71-yard TD dash was the highlight of the first half as the Falcons took a 7-0 lead in the opening period and stretched it to 21-0 at halftime.

The margin grew to 31-0 in the fourth quarter triggering a running clock, before Mapleton averted the shutout with a late touchdown.
