BUCYRUS — The Bucyrus Police and Fire Departments, along with city officials will be observing the event with local citizens at Block Parties in Bucyrus.
City officials are requesting block party organizers to call the Police Department, 419-562-1006, and register their party so they can be provided street barricades and other amenities prior to the event.
The current list of locations is:
John St.; 100 block of Emerson St.; 900 block of N. Sandusky Ave. at Gaius St.; 800 and 900 block of S. Walnut St.; Bucyrus United Methodist Church-100 block of E. Warren St.; 200 block of W. Liberty St.; Father’s Heart Healing Center-300 block of Woodlawn Ave. at S. East St.; 100 block of Schell Ave.; 1100 block of Southland Ave.; 1100 block of Monnett St.; 1100 block of S.Sandusky Ave. at Kilbourne Dr.; 100 block of W. Liberty St.; 400 block of Mader Dr.; 500 block of S. East St.; 1100 block of Hillcrest Dr.
Several other locations are planning parties and the city requests they register as soon as possible.

Tuesday, July 23
8:51 a.m. A false alarm was received from the 100 block of E Mansfield St.
9:24 a.m. A subject reported his unlocked vehicle entered by a car prowler while parked at Outhwaite Reservoir Saturday night. He stated his wallet and change was taken.
11:44 a.m. A report of an unlocked vehicle entered by a car prowler overnight in the 300 block of Wiley St. was received.
1:23 p.m. Officers investigated a report of a suspicious item in the 600 block of W Mansfield St.
2:16 p.m. A false alarm was received from the 100 block of E Rensselaer St.
2:32 p.m. A report of subjects soliciting cosmetics without permits in the downtown area was investigated. The subjects were informed of the requirement for solicitors permits.
3:27 p.m. Officers assisted with a domestic situation in the 1400 block of S Sandusky Ave.
3:38 p.m. Officers took a traffic report in the 100 block of Wiley St. where a city service truck grazed the corner of a garage.
4:26 p.m. Officers investigated a possible identity theft in the 100 block of Kincora Dr.
4:41 p.m. A citizen came on station to report possible fraud.
4:45 p.m. Officers responded to an automobile blocking the road on the Beal Ave and Marion Rd area. It was a disabled vehicle and it was removed by a tow service.
4:59 p.m. Officers issued a traffic warning in the Whetstone St and Southern Ave area.
5:32 p.m. Officers responded to a domestic issue in the S Poplar St and Lucas St area.
5:55 p.m. Officers investigated a disturbance in the 1400 block of S Sandusky Ave.
6:16 p.m. A report of children attempting to jump on a train was investigated in the Hall St and E Mansfield St area.
6:26 p.m. Officers assisted with a vehicle lockout in the 100 block of Gaius St.
6:41 p.m. Officers responded to a report of juveniles playing in the river at Aumiller Park. The juveniles left the area.
8:10 p.m. A vehicle drove across landscape in the 600 block of S. Sandusky Ave. and moved a large landscape boulder into the roadway. The street department was summoned to assist Officers and the Street Department removed the boulder from the road.
8:25 p.m. Officers checked the area of Rogers St and Osman St for reported fireworks.
9:34 p.m. A traffic stop was performed in the S Sandusky Ave and Warren St area. A warning was issued for defective equipment.
9:58 p.m. Officer performed a traffic stop in the Woodlawn Ave and Sheckler St. area. A warning was issued for defective equipment.
10:39 p.m. Officers investigated an open door and suspicious activity reported by a dog walker in the 600 block of E. Irving St.
10:42 p.m. A verbal traffic warning was given in the 1500 block of N. Sandusky Ave.
11:11 p.m. Officers responded to a domestic violence complaint in the 300 block of E. Charles St. The victim had been forced out of the residence and was locked out. Crawford County Sheriff’s Office and EMS assisted while Officers obtained a warrant as the accused was refusing to exit the residence. Officers served the warrant and arrested Raymond Blankenship, 48, without incident. Officers recovered suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia from the residence. Blankenship was arrested for domestic violence and other charges are pending. He was taken to Crawford County Justice Center to await a hearing.
11:22 p.m. A Union St. resident reported an unknown female had pointed a BB gun at him. The incident is under investigation.

3:17 a.m. Officers on patrol spoke to a male at Aumiller Park. He was advised the park was closed and sent on his way.
