CRESTLINE — A Shelby woman was killed after a single-vehicle crash early Wednesday morning in Crawford County.
Julie A. Plew, 32, was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office. The incident occurred at approximately 1:33 a.m. on Crestline Road near the intersection of Chambers Road.
When deputies arrived on the scene they located a 1999 blue Chevrolet had struck a tree. Authorities reported the vehicle appeared to have been traveling eastbound on Crestline Road. The vehicle went off the left side of the roadway and down into a ditch.
As the vehicle came up out of the ditch it went airborne striking a utility pole and tree. The vehicle continued to travel eastbound and began to rotate. The vehicle struck another tree before coming to rest.
The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, along with Whetstone Township Fire, Portsmouth EMS, Ohio State Highway Patrol and Jefferson Township Fire were all dispatched to the scene.
Officials said the incident remains under investigation and further information will be released at a later time.
