ASHLAND — An Ashland man pleaded guilty to attempted murder in Ashland County Common Pleas Court Thursday.
Court records show Ryan Sackett, 27, entered guilty pleas on two charges — attempted murder, a first-degree felony, and felonious assault, a second-degree felony.
In exchange for his plea, the Ashland County Prosecutor’s Office agreed to drop a second felonious assault charge as well as a charge of attempted aggravated burglary.
The charges stemmed from a June 2 incident in which Sackett attacked a man, stabbing him about 20 times, and also stabbed a woman, the Ashland Times Gazette reported at the time.
Judge Ronald P. Forsthoefel scheduled sentencing for 10:30 a.m. March 25.
