MANSFIELD — Winter storm 10 days ago. More snow this past weekend. Polar vortex coming Wednesday.
But tonight … we have to worry about something the National Weather Service in Cleveland is calling a potential “flash freeze” on area roads.
Temperatures have briefly warmed up above freezing this evening with milder air and light rain ahead of a cold front. Ground temperatures are still cold and still hovering around or barely above freezing.
Temperatures will rapidly fall with the passage of a strong cold front late this evening and overnight. Any moisture left on the pavement and roadways will have the potential to flash freeze tonight.
Temperatures will fall into the middle and upper teens by daybreak Tuesday morning.
Exercise caution if you are driving later tonight and Tuesday morning. Watch out for some possible slick spots.
