MANSFIELD — The Mansfield office of the American Red Cross has announced it will relocate its office in Richland County, according to a letter released Wednesday by Lara Kiefer, Executive Director, Lake Erie/Heartland Chapter.
The Mansfield office, located at 39 N. Park St. will soon be listed for sale.
Kiefer’s letter is published below in its entirety:
The American Red Cross will be relocating its Mansfield office in the near future, and as a valued partner, we want to keep you informed. We are not leaving Richland County. We are simply relocating.
The building in which our current offices are located, at 39 N. Park Street, will soon be listed for sale. The building is in need of many repairs and lacks the sufficient number of tenants to support operations.
We have actively begun a search for alternative space now, rather than wait for the sale to transpire, to continue to provide our services to the residents of Richland County seamlessly.
While we lament the loss of the space that has served as our home in Mansfield since 1971, it is our firm commitment to continue to meet our mission for the residents of Richland County, as we have been doing for the past 103 years.
We pledge to continue to:
Respond to home fires and other disasters, to help residents through their darkest hours.
Work to prevent disasters like home fires by installing free smoke alarms and providing home fire safety information.
Supply our first responders with refreshments when our assistance is requested.
Provide lifesaving training, like First Aid and CPR.
Collect lifesaving blood at blood drives throughout the community.
Support members of the military, veterans and their families with emergency communications, resiliency training, family follow-up and critical community services.

As soon as we identify our future home in Richland County, we will share the location with you. If you are aware of available space for offices and parking that may suit our needs, please let me know.
