MOUNT GILEAD — A Norwalk man suffered minor injuries Tuesday morning after a one-vehicle commercial roll-over crash on Ohio 61 at mile post 11 in Gilead Township of Morrow County.
The Mount Gilead Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported Marvin J. Pierce, 53, was operating a 2003 Peterbilt tractor and tanker trailer southbound on Ohio 61 at approximately 5:25 a.m. when his vehicle went off the right side of the road and struck a ditch. The tanker trailer separated from the commercial tractor and overturned on the right side of the road. The commercial tractor came back onto Ohio 61 and went off the left side of the road, striking a utility pole before coming to a final rest.
Pierce incurred minor injuries but was transported from the scene by Morrow County EMS to Morrow County Hospital.
Ohio 61 and Morrow County Road 115 were closed most of the day before reopening in the late afternoon.
